Digital Art & Concept Design (Grades 3-6)
Class Description:
Digital Painting is an introduction to drawing, painting, and rendering projects through the digital painting application, though the lessons learned here can be used in any digital art program.
Content Overview:
It's a common misconception that in digital art the “computer does all the work for you” but in reality the program is like a pencil, or paintbrush: you won’t get far with it without knowing the basics first. Students will learn how to bring their knowledge of traditional art techniques into a digital space, as well as techniques unique to the medium. In this class we’ll first be covering the basics, how to actually use the program, before jumping into adapting real-world drawing and painting knowledge to the app. Each lesson will have a goal and general design idea in mind, but students are heavily encouraged to bring their own ideas and creative energy to each piece.
Class Covered Subjects:
Class will cover fundamentals such as user interface and digital painting techniques. Later students will study wide range of topics such as nature, animals, and science to further understand the composition and rendering.

Digital Painting app, drawing tablet, pressure sensitive pen stylus.
